Counselling and / or Psychotherapy |
Counselling and/or Psychotherapy: for Individuals, Couples and Families - facing difficulties and challenges of wide ranging descriptions.
I work with people with a wide range of reasons for seeking help. I have experience working with some of the most common life circumstances that people are facing including:
- Bereavement and loss
- Childhood difficulties: bedwetting; nightmares; not sleeping; school refusal and bullying
- Depression and sadness
- Employment issues: redundancy; harassment and bullying
- Making and sustaining healthy relationships
- People who are described and or describe themselves as obsessive
- People who describe themselves as having: low self esteem; no confidence; appearance and eating disorders
- Relationship breakdown between: couples; parents and children; siblings; colleagues and employers
- Self harm
- Sexual difficulties including sexual identity and development
- Step Families learning to live together and apart. Blending different family traditions and cultures
- Transitions such as retirement; diagnosis of a life long condition; caring for an elderly relative.
- Traumas: loss; violence and abuse
I normally meet with people for an hour; sometimes first sessions are longer; meeting with different members of the family individually and together can also lengthen the overall time.
I welcome the opportunity to work with people of all ages, abilities, races, social and economic backgrounds, sexual orientation and genders.
